Squash, Rutabaga or Cauliflower are Great w/Beef - Instead of Potatoes

Cube a small rutabaga after peeling
Steam in medium sized kettle 25 to 40 minutes until tender
With 5 or 6 thin slivers of yellow onion, salt and a dash of pepper.
Add 1 TB of lower calorie margarine.

Makes 4 large servings.
Serve with lean braised beef (or lean hamburger)
& cole slaw

White Bread (Mock)


A large pie pan 10"
4 egg whites
Mixer
A tsp. of salt

Beat Egg whites until stiff.
Place by large Tbs. into a glass pie plate~round is best for the round mounds of egg whites. This should be about like a large hamburger bun.
Bake at 350 degrees - 375 degrees for about 42 minutes to 57 minutes to taste. Bake unti center is slightly dry to very dry YOur choice. Slice in two with a serrated knife and use like bread for sandwiches, Burgers & the works, open face peanut butter, veggie sandwiches (like coleslaw and bologna), ham and cheese melt etc.
