High Blood Pressure and Potassium
Adults
can consume 4700 milligrams of potassium or slightly less if using
drugs to lower their blood pressure, unless you are told to eat even
less than that due to additional conditions such as kidney disease.
Forty-seven hundred milligrams is 4.7 grams, move the decimal point over
three times from the right to convert milligrams to grams. 4700. to 4. 7
0 0.^ is three spaces from the right. 5500 millligrams is 5500.^ 5. 5 0
0. = 5.5 grams milligrams/grams/kilos
1000 milligrams (mg) EQUALS 1 gram (g) 1000 grams (g) EQUALS 1 kilogram ( kg)about 2.2 pounds
An easy way to know what foods are about five hundred milligrams is to measure 4 dense ounces or 8 fluid ounces and look for red and yellow meats and vegetable-fruit foods.
Kidney beans, beets, figs, apricot, avocado, orange juice, mollusk, halibut, tuna, carrot juice, almonds, tomatoes and plain yogurt (8oz)(not red or yellow but filled with potassium) 500 mg. a normal portion around 4 oz. or-3 heaping Tablespoons, juices are 8 ounce portions.
If you stick to the 500mg portions you can have 9 servings a day approximately. Example of this is: Breakfast: 1 egg, or 1 oz cereal and 1 1/2 strips bacon-500mg, 4-6 oz juice-500mg, =1000mg
Lunch: 2 oz. lunch meat-300mg, 1 cup yogurt or 1 oz. cheese-750mg, 1 tomato-250 mg.=1300mg
Snack: Chocolate, apple or ice cream bar [diet versions] -300 mg, or, smoothie-650mg=300-650mg
Dinner: 6 oz. meat poultry or fish-650 mg, 4 oz. heavy veget-500mg, 8 oz. A-vegets-500mg=1650mg
This is without breads, crackers, chips; this is a basic low carb dense nutrient menuof about 1100 cal.
If you subtract the bacon -100, the snack -200 you have 800 calories super fast diet. If you diet remove two ounces of dinner meat and add one and one-half tablespoons of 40 calorie lite-dressing.
Even richer in potassium or K are spinach, soybeans and products from soybeans and winter squashes which are double what the other foods hold (945mg) plus, white potatoes which are triple the potassium (1400-4-5oz.)
Good choices, not only due to the potassium intake, on the super low calorie diet, are spinach, edamame, pumpkin and acorn squash--super filling --and you could add these to the breakfast egg instead of at supper. You can also add three whites to every yolk for extra large servings at almost no cost in calorie value.
It is important to monitor the intake of the mineral to prevent irregular heart rates.

Tuna and Mushroom Paté
Recipe
Hard cook 4 large eggs
Put the eggs in a pan of cold water, bring the water with the eggs in it to a boil, boil a couple of minutes, turn off heat and let set for 20 minutes
-- Replace the water in the pan with cold water while still letting the eggs set for a few seconds Peel the eggs
Make the gravy mix as directed except only use 3/4 cups of water.
Drain one 6 oz. can of wpckd. tuna
Combine everything in a bowl and add 1 tsp seasoned salt, 2-3 TB Miracle Whip
Stir again.
Eat as deviled tuna or as stuffing for leafy greens. Even stuff a tomato, a zuchinni or some celery with the mixture. If you stuff something with the 'pate' serve more seasoned salt for seasoning the vegetable or even regular salt.

Miracles of Bean Sprouts and Other Comfort Food
More crunchy, salty, tomato-y, sweet, butter-y, gooey and scrumptious things are possible with these.
Stand in for Snacks like potato chips, wheat crackers (may need some crispie thing-a--ma-jigs though for the wheat ones)
Trick Two--make meringue shells for soft white bread. Bake and split in half like hamburger buns--spread with the mixture. Salt the meringue but don't sweeten it before baking.
Trick Three:Microwave 1 1/2 CHEESE SINGLES on butter PAM microwave proof plate about one minute, let cool. This should be cracker-y and maybe a little chewy in the center-for plenty of crunch microwave another 20-30 seconds. JUMBO CHEESE Wafers. A LARGE cracker sensation for a dollop of peanut butter, even add fat free cream cheese and sugar free blackberry jam fruit spread, simply fruit type. ENJOY like HEAVEN.
Great Tomato Soup Recipe:
8 oz. can of tomato sauce
2 tsp. mustard
1/4 tsp. seasoned salt or favorite salt or to taste--1tsp. if using unsalted tomato sauce
2 pink spoons of sweet 'n low
(one packet)
large splash of Worcestershire sauce
dash of Tobasco
Heat and eat. (Created by me, upon the loss of my second husband when I was 31--I ate nothing else but this and the microwaved cheese singles with the gooey toppings mentioned above for probably years)
Try placing the bean sprouts under the canned diced tomatoes and melting some cheese on top, add a tsp. of salt and dash of sweetening, your choice for a quick skillet casserole for one.

New Pumpkin Bars
Stirred on the stovetop a can of pumpkin thickened with cornstarch and water is comfort food that can be frozen too and sawed into serving size treats,
Large deep skillet
4 oz. corn starch
15-16 oz. pumpkin pureé
㌶ Water to fill pan, about 4 cups, even more if it is too thick.
Sweet 'n lo bulk 3 Tb.
1 Tb. salt
Cinnamon 1 tsp. or to taste
1 tsp. of vanilla-actually imparts a buttery flavor in this recipe
Put into your MOUTH and SAVOR.
Add one cup of water to the corn starch, stir completely until thin white liquid forms.
Put other ingredients into the pan, stir the remaining water into the pumpkin until smooth and thinned.
Turn heat to low.
Add corn starch mixture.
Continue cooking while stirring alternating with a wire whisk and a large spoon and turn heat up to medium until it boils.
Stir one or two minutes.
Add vanilla.
That's it.
PUT INTO favorite dish to freeze, cool whip tubs can be used, divided plates intended for microwaving are good because the servings will already be divided, (the large piece in the dish gets sawed in half to make the recipe last longer). The cookie crumbs from the PB cookies elsewhere in this blog are crumbled on top before freezing.
You can also serve this warm as a pudding, it is thick and creamy, simply store it in something you can heat it up in as stoneware mugs, this will go in a microwave easily. Have a potholder ready to hold your mug handle.
